Six months ago, in the midst of wedding bliss and celebratory cheers, the OP lost herself a bit too much in the revelry. The clinks of glasses and encouragement from friends saw her downing eight drinks, far more than her usual. The evening that should have been filled with romantic firsts as a married couple turned into a blur of intoxication. Her husband, ever the gentleman, helped her out of her intricate wedding gown, only for her to end the night by throwing up and promptly falling into a deep, alcohol-induced slumber.
Every now and then, OP replays that night in her mind, a sting of regret accompanying each memory. While the wedding was everything she had dreamt of and more, the night that should have been an intimate celebration of their union was overshadowed by her overindulgence. The thought that she wasted such a precious occasion on fleeting euphoria fills her with shame. She wishes she could rewind and savor the moments with clarity and grace, rather than through the haze of too much champagne.
